The Renault R24, fielded by Fernando Alonso for the last three rounds of the 2004 season, is set to go under the hammer in Paris this February.

The R24-07 chassis was raced by Alonso at the 2004 Chinese, Japanese and Brazilian Grands Prix, with Alonso finishing P4, P5 and P4 in those races – the last three he drove before setting off to his first world title of the season 2005

The car’s estimate has been set by auction house RM Sotheby’s at between €350,000 and €450,000, with the R24 – complete with its V10 Renault RS24 engine and Alonso’s own bespoke steering wheel – set to go up for auction in Paris on February 2.

For F1 fans on a tighter budget, the auction also features the sale of a static replica show car of the Ferrari F310, the first Prancing Horse driven by Michael Schumacher in 1996, and with a more modest estimate of €60,000 to €100,000.

Alonso is currently preparing for the 2022 season, while his Alpine team – as Renault did in 2021 – will launch its new A522 on February 21.
