Triumph has released the 2027 TF 450-X ahead of its MXGP debut, with the bike available to order now. According to the company, the race-developed updates focus on improved rideability, sharper response, and enhanced chassis control through engine and suspension refinements.
The powerplant features a forged König piston, Del West titanium valves, and DLC-coated internals. The motorcycle is available to order now, priced at $10,295 USD and $12,695 CAD, according to the company.
The 2027 TF 450-X produces 61.55 horsepower at 9,500 rpm from its single-overhead-cam 450cc engine, according to Racer X Online.
Triumph officials said the engine calibration has been revised to enhance torque delivery, rear-wheel connection, and drivability, with an updated maximum engine rpm limiter strategy. The cylinder head now uses valve guides constructed from a high-wear-resistance material, and the rocker shafts feature revised DLC coating for improved durability and high-rpm stability, according to Racer X Online.
The clutch assembly receives a new pack, an upgraded single clutch bearing, and a revised clutch hose, which Triumph said improves durability and engagement feel. The transmission has undergone extensive updates, including a new selector fork, drum, star, detent arm, selector shaft, and gear lever, designed for smoother shifts under load. A new 50-tooth final drive sprocket improves acceleration and drive out of corners, according to company specifications.
Chassis updates include new engine brackets that connect the powertrain to the frame, optimized for stiffness and chassis control. KYB suspension receives revised settings front and rear, improving balance, damping control, and rider feedback, according to Triumph. The 48mm AOS coil-spring forks feature new tool-less adjusters for trackside changes and new fork guards with increased strength. The chassis itself is built around an ultra-light aluminum spine frame with TIG-welded construction, a hydroformed swingarm, and a forged-machined linkage system.
The TF 450-X enters 2027 following its debut season in AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross with Triumph Factory Racing. Triumph will enter the FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship in the 450cc class for the first time in 2027, according to Racer X Online. The bike enters its second season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross competition as it prepares for the MXGP debut, according to Cycle News. Triumph’s off-road program recorded 15 victories and 62 podium finishes during the 2026 racing season, records show.
Steve Sargent, Triumph’s chief product officer, said the racing program directly influenced the production model. “The TF 450-X has completed its first season of top-level competition, giving our racing and engineering teams valuable experience of the motorcycle in demanding race conditions,” Sargent said in a statement. “What we have learned through that program has directly influenced the 2027 model, with refinements to power delivery, shifting, chassis performance, and rider feel.”
Sargent also referenced the success of the smaller-displacement model. “The success of the TF 250-X has demonstrated what Triumph can achieve at the highest level of motocross,” he said. “We are now looking forward to bringing that experience to the 450 class as the TF 450-X takes on MXGP in 2027.”
Standard equipment includes a Brembo braking system, Galfer discs, ProTaper ACF carbon-core handlebars, ODI lock-on grips, and D.I.D DirtStar 7000-series aluminum rims fitted with Pirelli MX32 tires, according to Racer X Online. The Athena ECU with GET Power Assist integrates traction control, launch control, a quickshifter, and dual engine maps. New separate stop and start switches update the rider interface, and an accessory Wi-Fi module with the MX Tune Pro app unlocks ten additional engine maps. The bike is eligible for the Triumph Racing Contingency Program, which offers cash rewards to amateur racers in the U.S. and Canada.
Triumph also unveiled the 2027 TF 250-E and TF 450-E enduro models, which receive updated KYB suspension settings, tool-free adjustability, gear change improvements, and new all-black bodywork, according to Motor Sports NewsWire. The TF 250-E gains precision-tuned Neken triple clamps, a new clutch pack and bearing, and a new valve guide design. The TF 450-E receives a new clutch pack, bearing and hose, new rocker shafts, and a new valve guide design. Both enduro models were developed with World Enduro Champions Paul Edmondson and Iván Cervantes.
