It wasn’t the start Aston Martin had hoped for in the 2021 F1 season after scoring just 5 points over the two race weekends. And it was certainly not the kind of start that Sebastian Vettel would have been looking forward to, considering that his morale is already at the end.

Well, the 4-time world champion has announced that the Aston Martin garage is expecting some improvements over the Portuguese Grand Prix.
Unfortunately, given that Aston Martin are a little too far removed from their rivals at the moment, Vettel felt it might not be easy for the team to fill such a large void in a single weekend.
What did the Aston Martin driver say?
During the Portuguese Grand Prix press conference, Vettel revealed that Aston Martin could end up in a better position in a race weekend or two.
“I think we have a few things to do. So the car should be in a better place. And let’s see where we are in a couple of races, ”he said.
“But it is certainly not the easiest because we didn’t start where we wanted and then it is difficult to outperform the others in development. But that’s the challenge we face and the way we want to go down. “
The fact that Aston Martin wears a similar design to Mercedes has of course meant that the former has suffered a considerable pace among recent aero changes.

And of course, they are not alone, as Alpine has also suffered a much worse decline. While Aston Martin are currently ranked 6th on the table, the French team are in a much lower position having only secured 3 points.
