Cameron Beaubier clinched his sixth MotoAmerica Superbike Championship Sunday at New Jersey Motorsports Park by winning Race 3 on the final day of the 2025 season. Beaubier secured the title after points leader Bobby Fong crashed twice, including on lap 8 of Race 3, officials said.
Beaubier entered the final day trailing points leader Bobby Fong by 13 points but capitalized on Fong’s misfortunes to secure the championship. Fong crashed twice on Sunday at New Jersey Motorsports Park, first in Race 2 and again on lap 8 of Race 3, according to race officials. The second crash ended Fong’s title hopes and allowed Beaubier to take the lead unchallenged in Race 3, which he won to clinch the championship.
The final points standings show Beaubier with 371 points, 25 ahead of Josh Herrin in second place with 346, and 32 points clear of Fong, who finished third with 339 points, records indicate.
Herrin, who had been third entering the weekend with 292 points, dropped to fourth in Race 3 after running wide on the final lap. Sean Kelly finished second in Race 3 after passing Herrin on the last lap, while Corey Gillim earned his first career Superbike podium by finishing third, also overtaking Herrin late in the race. The top 10 in Race 3 included Beaubier, Kelly, Gillim, Herrin, and others such as Uribe, Escalante, Gagne, Beach, Campbell, and Smith, according to official results.
Fong had started the weekend strong, winning Race 1 on Saturday and marking his sixth victory of the 2025 season. He had consistently scored points in every round before the finale, leading the championship with 314 points entering New Jersey Motorsports Park, the ninth and final round held September 26–28. Beaubier was second in the standings with 306 points, and Herrin was third with 292 points, according to season records. A total of 74 points were available across the weekend’s races.
Beaubier’s weekend began with adversity, as he crashed twice on Friday, necessitating a full bike rebuild by his Tytlers Cycle Racing BMW team, sources confirmed. Despite the setbacks, he finished second to Fong in Friday’s race, narrowing the points gap. After Race 1 on Saturday, Beaubier took the points lead, positioning himself for the final day’s battles. His ability to capitalize on Fong’s crashes on Sunday was decisive in clinching the title.
Following the championship win, Beaubier announced plans to move to Warhorse HSBK Ducati Flo4Law for the 2026 season, where he will defend his title riding a Ducati Panigale V4 R, according to team statements. Early testing in 2026 at Road Atlanta, the site of the May 2–4, 2025 round, saw Beaubier set the fastest Superbike lap at 1 minute, 24.348 seconds, records show. Beaubier had previously swept all three races at Road Atlanta in 2025, underscoring his strong performance at the venue.
Beaubier’s sixth MotoAmerica Superbike Championship adds to a decorated career, with the 2025 season described by him as one of the most competitive, highlighting Fong’s pace throughout the year. The season featured multiple rounds where Beaubier and Fong exchanged leads, culminating in a dramatic finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park that decided the championship.
