Schumacher reveals why he got Vettel to look into his F1 car

The F1 rookie was seen asking four-time world champion Vettel to check something in his car after the Paul Ricard race at Parc Ferme.

Ahead of the Styrian Grand Prix this weekend, Schumacher announced that he had shown the Aston Martin driver a problem with the seat in his car.

“Basically, I’ve been sitting crooked since the beginning of the season because the seat is central, but I’m not straight,” explained Schumacher.

“We’ve talked about this before and I took the opportunity to show him and I was just talking about the seat. I think he advised my mom to maybe break it so I can get a new one sooner!

“But it didn’t happen in the end, so I still have the same seat for now.”

Schumacher emphasized that the problem was not a major problem and confirmed that Haas was working on a solution.

“I’m crooked in the seat so I’m just trying to find the right position,” he added.

“I think not being symmetrical is something I have to work on. It’s hard to get this done in a short period of time, but there are plans to change seats in the near future.

“It’s not as bad as some might think. It’s a small offset, something I’m used to in junior categories too. And to be honest, it doesn’t hurt me in any way when driving a car.

“That is of secondary importance to us. For us, it’s mainly about getting everything ready for the weekend and being prepared at that level and maybe focusing our focus on something else instead of wasting it on something that may not affect me right now.

“But as I said, something is on schedule and we will surely come back after the summer break with something that may be a little more centered.

“We worked a lot on it at the beginning of the season. We reached something comfortable enough for me to move on. So we left it at that. “

Schumacher maintains a close relationship with Vettel, who previously spoke of his desire to help his compatriot where he can after adoring his seven-time world champion father.

“It’s very simple, I’ve spent so many years racing and we talked about the seat last week of the week,” said Vettel.

“There are always little things that can be improved, so I wanted to see it and we went to see it.”
