The 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix is becoming an absolute classic after Red Bulls Max Verstappen dominated Saturday’s qualifying. The Flying Dutchman won his fourth pole position of his career, 0.388 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the third quarter. With that he was ready for an explosive race on Sunday March 28th.
Apart from the two best teams, it was a strong qualifying at the Bahrain Grand Prix for Ferrari and AlphaTauri with Charles Leclerc in P4 and Pierre Gasly in P5. Returning two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was impressed as he finished the session on P9 for the renamed Alpine F1 team. For another world champion, however, it was a completely different story. Sebastian Vettel was caught by yellow flags that Nikita Mazepin’s spin spawned towards the end of the first quarter. The four-time world champion finished his debut qualifying with Aston Martin in 18th place.
