The 2021 Formula 1 season got off to a flying start in Bahrain. In a close fight between Hamilton and Verstappen, the reigning seven-time world champion prevailed and beat the Dutchman by just 0.745 seconds.

That win gave Lewis his 95th Grand Prix win and an early lead in the championship standings. The Brit scored 25 points as a race winner. The driver with the fastest lap in the race receives an additional point. Max Verstappen drove the fastest lap until Valtteri Bottas was looking for fresh rubber and took the point on the last lap of the race.

In addition to the fastest lap award, there are also two awards in Formula 1 that do not earn any points. This includes the DHL Fastest Pit Stop award, which Red Bull received unsurprisingly for its 1.93-second pit stop.

They also have the Formula 1 Driver of the Day award, which is chosen by the spectators. The honor went to Red Bull’s Sergio Perez after his impressive P5 goal after an electrical fault on the formation lap that forced him to start from the pit lane.
