Perez somehow managed to steal the show with his absolutely priceless gift to Verstappen – binoculars! One might wonder why this is priceless? Well, there is a backstory. Let’s travel back in time to the 2021 Brazilian GP, when Verstappen tried to spy on the Mercedes rear wing that was driven by Lewis Hamilton.
It was all good until he put his finger on the car itself, which the stewards took note of and finally imposed a hefty fine of 50,000 euros on the Red Bull driver. By touching a competitor’s car, Verstappen broke the Parc Ferme rules, so the Dutchman had no choice but to accept the penalty.
