Hamilton has been working with Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas at Mercedes since 2017. They are a successful driver pairing for the Berkley-based team as they have helped the team win every Driver and Constructor title since 2017. Valtteri is a fast driver and also a solid teammate for the 7-time world champion.

But the Finn has struggled to keep up with Hamilton’s pace this season. His current form influenced the team in the battle for the constructors’ championship with Red Bull.

During the FIA press conference, Wolff mentioned that Lewis is involved in the team’s decisions. He also stated that the situation around Valtteri and Russell is being monitored by the team.
“Well, Lewis is part of the team and has always been close to the decision-making group because we just value his opinion, and likewise, when we talk about drivers, there is nothing we don’t share with him. it’s transparent, ”said Wolff.
