The ‘screaming’ F1 engine future that may not be out of reach

Retro YouTube videos can’t do justice to the volume of the old screeching V8 and V10 engines of Formula 1. In the flesh, not only have they attacked your eardrums (making earplugs indispensable every F1 weekend), but they have reached the parts that other more modern aggregates cannot.

I remember often watching the Monaco track in the tunnel and standing behind a well-placed drinks machine to block out the vibrations and the power of the engines that were thrown out as the cars sped by a few meters away. Every time you could feel the monsters pounding on your chest at 20,000 rpm and pounding through your torso.
