The Mexican has had one roller coaster season for Red Bull so far. The climax of his campaign was his victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but there have been some frustrating times too.
Earlier in the season, Perez said he was a fan of how Marko was brutally honest with him about his performances.
And although the year was tougher than he initially expected, Perez says he’s not tired of Marko revealing his feelings.
When asked by Motorsport.com if Marko was ever super tough on him, Perez said, “If he had to be. When I have a bad race he will just tell me and he will always tell you exactly what he thinks.
“I think it’s a good thing for someone with my experience, with my career in Formula 1, with my career. It’s good to have someone who tells you immediately what they think and where you stand.”

Perez says he has found Red Bull management has been incredibly supportive of him throughout the season so far and says they won’t step down if they feel like he can be better.
“You obviously have all the information and all the data weekend after weekend,” he said. “You know exactly where the driver’s lap time is.
“There’s no stopping Red Bull. So you’re pretty transparent with me and the media, which is good.
“But the most important thing is that I’m happy and satisfied going home weekend after weekend. That’s the most important thing to me, you know. I’m a very hungry driver and I have to live with myself. “

Perez says he also built a good relationship with Max Verstappen as the two worked together to overthrow Mercedes. But he says it is hard to rely on Verstappen for advice that could help, as the two drivers have very different driving styles.
“I have a good relationship with him on and off track so we can exchange our views regularly,” he said.
“Of course, he probably doesn’t find the problems I’m talking about the same, so we’ll drive differently. It’s difficult in that regard, but we’re pushing the team forward together, that’s good.”
