Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko believes Lewis Hamilton has already made a decision regarding his retirement from Formula 1 as a result of Mercedes’ pre-season actions.
Hamilton was rumored to be quitting the sport after the heartbreak he suffered in Abu Dhabi last month when he was controversially guided to the World Cup by title rival Max Verstappen.
Following the result at last season’s season finale, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealed that Hamilton was “disillusioned” with the sport.
This, coupled with the seven-time world champion’s recent radio silence, led many to believe the 37-year-old was ready to end his racing career.
Hamilton was devastated after a once-comfortable lead was snatched from him in the very final moments of the season as Verstappen capitalized on a controversial call from FIA Director Michael Masi to become world champion.
