Toto Wolff has promised that he and his reigning world champion Mercedes team will “leave nothing on the table” in the fight against Red Bull for the drivers and constructors’ championship. After Lewis Hamilton finished second in the Hungarian Grand Prix, Mercedes currently has a narrow lead in the overall standings in both categories.
Wolff has led an era of unprecedented success for the Brackley-based team and has completed a team and driver double in each of the past seven seasons since the cars were equipped with the V6 turbo hybrid engines.
In 2021, Hamilton is currently leading its bitter rival Max Verstappen with eight points, while the team is 12 points ahead of Red Bull.
Wolff has emphasized how far he and the organization want to go to continue this remarkable winning streak.
The Austrian was asked by GPFans Global what small profits could affect the title fight and responded in a typically clever way.
Wolff said, “The words ‘marginal gains’ are copyrighted by Sir Dave Brailsford who invented this for his cycling team many years ago.

He has since admitted that he regrets the fire comment.
The battle of words not only between the two bosses but their drivers and teams as a whole has intensified amid recent controversies on race day at Silverstone and in Hungary.
On both occasions, a Mercedes driver forced the Red Bull cars to crash, with Hamilton and Verstappen’s incident at the British Grand Prix now firmly anchored in F1 folklore.
Wolff’s comments suggest that Mercedes will continue to be as aggressive as possible when the F1 returns to action after the mid-season break.
The first stop back is Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, the first practice session will take place on August 27th.
Wolff admitted that the Mercedes car would not be further developed during the break as the Silver Arrows, along with the other F1 teams, focus their energies on producing a competitive car for 2022.
When asked whether the car had changed at all, Wolff replied: “Everything that is there is all that we have.”
The new season brings with it a new car design from the F1 authorities aimed at encouraging closer races and more overtaking maneuvers.
