Buxton believes Norris’ current partner Daniel Ricciardo will join Mercedes to drive alongside George Russell, but only after the German team let loose on Perez in 2024.
“Over at Mercedes, after missing the 2021 World Cup, the 2022 team will be back. Lewis Hamilton, now partner of George Russell, wins his eighth World Championship and announces that he is retiring from racing, ”continued Buxton.
“He is changing to the position of the team’s sporting director, emulating his great friend Niki Lauda and intending to take over the reins of Toto Wolff one day in the near future.
