In the same interview, he gave his verdict on which couple, embroiled in a title fight before him, will take the crown in 2021.
“I think Max,” said Norris when asked who he would bet his money on.
“The Mercedes seems to be a little less constant than Red Bull. Red Bull looks a bit more balanced, while the Mercedes either drives fast or has a hard time. I would say Max, but it will be very tight.”
The McLaren car is competitive this season but doesn’t seem ready to disrupt the Mercedes and Red Bull machines just yet.
CEO Zak Brown said earlier this month that he expects the team to be able to fight for the championship by 2024.
“I think we won’t have any more excuses in the 2024 season,” he told Motorsport.com.
“I would like to think that by this point the sport will be so competitive that there will be a multitude of teams competing for the championship and I like to think that we are one of them.”
