Lewis Hamilton revealed the nickname, with which only his mother and sister are allowed to address him. The Briton revealed his open side in an interview with Esquire Middle East in a rapid-fire Q&A.

Revealing his nickname, which was only used by close family members, Lewis Hamilton warned others, saying:

“I never had a nickname. My mother calls me Lu. But only my mom and my sisters can call me Lu, otherwise nobody else calls me Lu. I don’t accept it. ”

Confident not to accept anyone but his mother or sisters, the seven-time world champion called him by his nickname. However, Lewis Hamilton also remains one of the few F1 drivers who hasn’t had a paddock nickname in its 15 years of existence in the sport.

Could Lewis Hamilton leave Formula 1 after its failed campaign in 2021?

The Brit had a heartbreaking end to his 2021 campaign. His Mercedes boss Toto Wolff gave a hint of Lewis Hamilton’s withdrawal from the game in the post-season media session.

The seven-time world champion was seen at the Mercedes factory celebrations in Brackley. However, his media and social media silence following the Abu Dhabi GP final has fueled his resignation rumors.

The Briton led the last race of the season by one lap and lost to a dubious call from the stewards in Abu Dhabi.

Lewis Hamilton is under contract with Mercedes for another two seasons and will have George Russell as his new teammate. Although his goal for an eighth title seems achievable in the future, the question remains whether the new regulations and level of competition make this an effortless task.
