The new 18-inch tires will be used next year when the new regulations for the 2022 season come into force. These tests will prepare the driver and the teams for what to expect in the next season.

It’s not quite what fans had in mind when it was announced that the Briton will be racing for the Silver Arrows. The 23-year-old will drive the W12, which has been fitted with new tires, to provide feedback to the Brackley-based team as they prepare for the 2022 season.
After a dramatic Hungarian GP, Russell is off on Monday but will be back behind the wheel as his test is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Williams driver will once again race across the track, where he scored his very first points for the Grove-based team last Sunday.

George Russell is confident that he will secure his future over the summer break
The Briton is in his final year of contract with Williams and rumors are mounting that he will join Mercedes in 2022. Russell is confident that his plan will be finalized in F1 before the paddock reaches Spa for the Belgium GP after the summer break.
He said, “These things are never easy for any driver or team. [That’s] Regardless of whether you change teams or stay on the same team – it’s always a lengthy process. “
“I’m confident a decision will be made this summer, but who knows when that will be announced?” Concluded Russell.

It’s no secret that F1 fans want to see Russell alongside Lewis Hamilton in a Silver Arrow in 2022. For now, however, they only have to be satisfied with the upcoming tire test with Pirelli in Budapest. But he’s hoping he’ll get a firm seat in the Brackley squad.
