Who is Juan Pablo Montoya-McLaren F1 & Multiple Indy 500 winner?

Juan Pablo Montoya is a Colombian racing driver. Montoya currently drives in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He drives for Acura Meyer Shank Racing. Juan even won the title with Team Penske in 2019.

Montoya learned the karting methods from his father. His father was a motorsport fan. He won the international F3000 title in 1998. In 1999 he won the CART FedEx Championship Series.

Juan has won some of the biggest races on the calendar. Some of his race wins include the Indianapolis 500 in 2000 and 2015, the Monaco Grand Prix in 2003, Daytona 24 Hours and the 2017 Race of Champions.

Montoya is one of only two drivers to have won two races in the Triple Crown of Motorsport. In addition, Montoya has dominated races in Indy vehicles, Formula 1 vehicles, and NASCAR Cup vehicles.

In October 2009, Montoya was named one of the 50 best Formula 1 drivers of all time.

Juan Pablo Montoya- The Next Triple Crown Winner?

During the 2000 United States Grand Prix, Montoya signed a two-year deal with Williams-BMW from 2001. Montoya was pretty impressive during his Formula 1 stint. He was a tough opponent and a race winner. Montoya even led the title competition in the 2003 season.

Juan made his Formula 1 debut with Williams in 2001. His first race was at the Australian Grand Prix. He qualified 11th. The race did not go as he would have liked. He withdrew from the race after an engine failure.

Montoya retired from Formula 1 after the 2006 US Grand Prix. Montoya won 7 races during his F1 career. He announced that he had signed an agreement to participate in NASCAR from 2007.

In 2006, Montoya announced that he would drive for Chip Ganassi Racing in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series. He drove in the Texaco / Havoline car number 42. He won 2 races in the NASCAR Cup Series. Montoya resigned from NASCAR in 2013.

For the 2014 season, Montoya competed in the IndyCar series. He drove the Dallara-Chevrolet No. 2 for the Penske team. This was his return to the IndyCar arrangement.

He originally entered the deal in 2000 and won his first Indy 500. Juan was the first driver to win the Indy 500 in the first attempt since Formula 1 World Champion Graham Hill in 1966. Montoya was the first Colombian winner of the coveted Indy 500 race.
