[Video] Murray Walker tests the McLaren F1

This glorious little film was the first in a new segment called “The Greatest Car Ever” created for the second series of “Modern” Top Gear – the first series in which James May joined Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond. Each week a different guest host shared why a particular vehicle was best, with cars ranging from the London Taxi and the original Land Rover to the Jaguar E-Type and this one, the McLaren F1.

This could have aired on May 11, 2003, but everything Murray says is still true. And as always, his excitement is contagious. You can’t help but smile when he says to himself “that was a nice gear change, Murray – I’m very happy with that”. What a clip and what a man.
