This fire-damaged Bugatti Chiron is the king of the salvage super sports car

Bugatti plans to build only 500 copies of its Chiron hypercar. Most of these cars were pre-sold through 2018, so the best way to get your hands on the multi-million dollar Grand Tourer is in the used car market. Perfect chirons rarely exceed even the most prestigious auction block, so you may have to compromise a little. Fortunately, the total auto auctioneers at Copart have your back.

Like so many Camaros that were previously destined to get an LS swap, this Chiron is listed on Copart with some burn scars. As for the damage, however, the problem seems pretty simple. The left front fender and the front luggage compartment are both quite badly burned, and the interior is coated with some sort of dust or fire extinguishing agent. The rest of the car appears to be in relatively good condition; if this were a McLaren F1 it wouldn’t have been summed up.

“Runs and Runs” may be an optimistic statement, but Copart at least claims that this burned Chiron was idling when it got to his seat. The cosmetic problems are dire but solvable. The bigger concerns are the invisible damage: the car’s intricate electrical systems are likely in pretty bad shape, and Bugatti’s master technicians are nowhere to be found in any city in America.

Copart estimates the car is still worth $ 345,000. In the worst case, the running W-16 engine could be the most unique engine swap in history. This is a bargain on a repairable car at best in a price range where bargains are otherwise impossible. This could be the most ambitious project car ever. Last but not least, it’s the perfect place to start a YouTube channel.
