It’s not often that a McLaren F1 is put up for sale. In fact, it’s rare for a McLaren F1 on sale to have a unique history than what is currently available through ISSMI.
According to the seller, this particular red McLaren F1 has been “superbly maintained” throughout its life.
It also comes with a clear and well-documented owner history from the time of the new purchase. There is no mention of how many miles it has traveled, but the seller said it has enough miles to be “usable”.
The information is helpful to some extent but does not really paint a true picture of the state of the British supercar. We know a BMW-made 6.1-liter V-12 engine is responsible for sending 618 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque to the two rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. In full form, the F1 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 240 mph.
Given its age, it’s wishful thinking that this particular F1 still has as much power in its V-12 engine. Even so, it’s hard to get a McLaren F1 that has the model’s claimed history. It also looks like it can still compete with today’s supercars. Well worth a call or two to ISSMI.
