The McLaren F1 is one of those historically significant cars that will forever remain meaningful. Developed to redefine what a supercar is, the vehicle is still recognized today for its performance. So it’s a bit of a miracle when a well-kept specimen is for sale.
This red F1 from the 1995 model year is even better as, according to the seller, it has been “excellently maintained” throughout its life. It is said to be one of only seven brand new copies sold in the United States, out of a production series of 106 units.

The red exterior means that the car has a clear and “well-documented” history again. The ad doesn’t mention the exact mileage, but says it has enough mileage to be “usable,” whatever that means. It’s not a garage queen, of course, but it’s in very decent overall condition.
Under the hood there is of course a 6.1-liter V12 engine from BMW. The BMW S70 / 2 engine has 627 horsepower (461 kilowatts) and 479 pound-feet (650 newton meters) of torque at 5,600 rpm. With a readline at 7,500 rpm, the F1’s V12 remains one of the best internal combustion engines of all time.
The power is sent to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual transmission. It uses a carbon three-plate clutch in an aluminum housing and was developed in collaboration with Wiesmann Transmissions in California.
Returning to that particular example, the ad doesn’t appear to have a price. If you are interested, you must of course contact the seller. However, if you are looking for a brand new supercar with a similar concept, then you should check out the Gordon Murray T.50.
