An exceptional XJ220 with only 385 miles on the clock at the Monza Red factory and a clean health certificate from brand specialist Don Law Racing, its sale could mark a turning point for the model.
A highlight of Bonhams Goodwood Revival sales, it was the first time an XJ220 exceeded our highest Hagerty price guide (then) of £ 445,000 and is a record for a public auction.
This was quickly followed by the sale of a similarly impressive example by RM Sotheby’s at its London auction in November, surpassing its pre-sale high of £ 432,500. It is noteworthy that ten of the eleven highest values of the model have been auctioned since 2019.
