"Safer" Hamilton will come back stronger, Button says ahead of the Jurassic X Prix

JBXE team owner and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button gave his reaction to a “going down in history” F1 season ahead of the Extreme E Jurassic X Prix in Dorset, telling SNTV he believed one “Safer” Lewis Hamilton will come back stronger in 2022. The former McLaren F1 driver also gave insights into his experience as team principal at Extreme E and what he had learned most about the need for climate action.

Extreme E is a radical new racing series that sees electric SUVs compete in extreme environments around the world that are already damaged or affected by climate and environmental issues.

The five-race global journey sheds light on the effects of climate change and human interference in some of the world’s most remote places, and promotes the adoption of electric vehicles in search of a lower-carbon future for the planet.

In order to minimize the local impact, the Extreme E-Races will not be open to spectators, but fans will be invited to follow the action via live TV broadcast and on social media.

The St. Helena, a former passenger cargo ship, has undergone a multi-million dollar overhaul to minimize emissions and convert it into Extreme E’s operations center.

The ship will be used to carry the championship’s cargo and infrastructure, including vehicles, to the nearest port to minimize Extreme E’s footprint, as well as to facilitate scientific research by the on-board laboratory.
