During FP2, Valtteri Bottas left the pits on fresh hard tires but lost control of his car and stopped in the fast lane near the McLaren pits. As a result, the Finn diver received a three-place penalty from the commissioners before the Styrian GP.

Meanwhile, Romain Grosjean takes advantage of Bottas after commenting on F1’s post. He wrote: “Spin in the pit lane, welcome to Club Valtteri Bottas”. The Frenchman was the last driver to suffer such a fate.

“I don’t necessarily see that this has to change”: Lewis Hamilton on rumors Mercedes drops Valtteri Bottas

Lewis Hamilton suggests that Silver Arrows shouldn’t replace Valtteri Bottas after the end of the current season. The Mercedes duo is the oldest driver pairing in the starting field this season.

“Valtteri is now my team-mate and we both had our ups and downs in our careers,” said the seven-time world champion before the GP Styria.

“But like I said, I think he’s a fantastic team-mate and I don’t necessarily see that need to change. We have worked well for many years.
