McLaren unveiled a special, one-off paint job for the final race of the Formula 1 season in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
The team will launch a custom design for the second time this year after using a one-off Gulf livery at the Monaco Grand Prix in May. This weekend’s paint job was produced for sponsor British American Tobacco, whose vapor product Vuse is advertised on the cars.
The design was created by Rabab Tantawy, an artist from the United Arab Emirates, as part of the Driven for Change initiative to highlight the work of underrepresented artists over 25. The design combines the colors of papaya orange and blue that McLaren has driven a total of year with Tantway’s Nubian Series artwork.
“Driven by Change is a unique opportunity to leverage our global stage to support emerging talent and give undiscovered creatives the platform they deserve,” said Claire Cronin, McLaren’s chief marketing officer. “Rabab’s art is inspiring and we’re proud to be racing your papaya-influenced creation this weekend.”
