McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown reportedly said the team is in talks with Audi about a possible entry into the sport. He went on to say that Porsche will also be partnering with Team Red Bull Racing.
The prospect of the Volkswagen Group entering F1 has been floating around in the paddock for quite some time. Representatives of both brands showed keen interest in the talks, which could also include a collaboration on aggregates. Brown further said:
“We’ll just wait and see if they [VW] will get into the sport – because I don’t think that’s definitively decided yet – and if they do, we’ll have a contract for that term. Of course we will assess where we are and who is in the sport and make a decision for 2026 when the time comes.” It’s P4 for the team in the Constructors Championship.

Drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris will try to carry the momentum into the 2022 season. The team finished P4 in the Constructors’ Championship last year, behind a Ferrari team that bounced back in the second half of the season. Norris finished the season in P6 while Ricciardo finished P8 while the Papaya boys clinched last season’s only one-two at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
