Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton is still not determined to return to Formula 1 until the governing body fixes things.
Lewis Hamilton lost the F1 title in Abu Dhabi in a very controversial way in 2021. Since then, the seven-time world champion has not appeared on social media or mainstream media.
As a result, there have been rumors that he will be retiring before the start of the new season. Now, SkySports journalist Craig Slater claims that it is still not certain whether Hamilton would return to F1 until the FIA makes some effective reforms.
“With 69 days until the first Grand Prix in Bahrain, it is still unclear whether Lewis Hamilton will be at the start,” said Slater. “Regarding the fact that Hamilton is returning to Formula 1, having an appetite for it and having overcome the ‘disenchantment’ that his team boss Toto Wolff felt after Abu Dhabi.
“The FIA has a duty to keep the promise it made before Christmas to investigate what happened in this final round and get some results.”
“Mercedes understandably wants to see something tangible, but I’ve been told this: the longer it goes on, the worse the situation is at Lewis Hamilton, and that’s from a high-level source.”
“The longer it takes, the less chance there is of seeing Lewis”
