This is the one badge that doesn’t just have to be bought, it has to be earned. Let’s take a look at five other automotive marvels adorned with the GTR emblem.
BMW E46 M3 GTR:
This machine is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 that delivers 444 horsepower to the rear wheels, combined with a six-speed manual transmission. The car has a 0-100 time of just 3.4 seconds. This new V8 BMW helped them get a win against the great 911 GT3 R, the same Porsche that beat BMW by a wide margin in the previous championship. So that they can drive their new V8 M3, BMW has produced ten street-legal M3 GTRs for the public.
McLaren F1 GTR
As early as the 1990s, the McLaren F1 was the fastest street-legal car in the world. However, McLaren wanted to improve their game one more time in terms of their race car. At that time, the F1 GTR was already known for winning the 1995 Le Mans 24-hour race while claiming podium positions. The F1 GTR was equipped with the legendary BMW V12, cooling ducts, a massive rear wing and a restrictor that ensured that the engine did not produce more than 600 hp.
Mercedes Benz CLK GTR
If you played video games in the 90s you would recognize this machine. This car was a GT legend indeed. A number of CLK GTRs have been built for road use so that they can compete in the FIA GT championship. This car was fitted with a full carbon fiber body and a V12 with a little over 600 horsepower. AMG actually bought an F1 GTR to test if their CLK was faster than McLaren and beat McLaren that year.
Nissan Skyline R34 GTR
The R34 GTR was one of the most sought-after cars in the 90s. Compared to other touring cars, this automotive marvel was far ahead of its time. This machine was equipped with four-wheel drive, which enabled it to take turns at breathtaking speed. The R34 was also equipped with a twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine with an estimated output of over 280 hp, while the V-Spec variants were equipped with carbon parts such as the rear diffuser. For most of the gasoline engines out there, the R34 GTR is as good as it gets.
Nissan R35 GTR

You can’t even imagine the acronym GTR without the image of an R35 coming to mind. This is the latest generation of Nissan’s modern GTR. The R35 first came into shape in 2007. Since then, Nissan has tweaked and refined it over the years. The R35 is famous for its incredible acceleration and the fact that it competes with both Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Only recently have automakers been able to keep up with a 0-100 time of less than 3 seconds. This is made possible by the refined launch control system and its all-wheel drive.
