Zak Brown had previously sent a message to fans after the debacle of the race.
“Hello, fans here in Spa. That was certainly a disappointing day. We wanted to race, the drivers wanted to race and of course we knew you wanted to see a race and you didn’t see it. We did not take part in that, a very difficult situation which I believe needs to be explained.

I think the FIA did everything it could to put on a race. You obviously can’t control the weather. You need to put driver safety first. The conditions were not suitable for racing. “The rules say [that] after a couple of laps it can be called a race. I think that needs to be checked, ”said Brown.
We hope it doesn’t happen again: Zak Brown
The McLaren CEO stated that the teams will surely meet with the FIA to discuss regulations for the Belgian Grand Prix. He also mentioned that he hoped that this would never happen again.
“I don’t think anyone would say that the weather is safe when racing, but we need a better solution than sport. In such situations, the result should not be a race after three laps behind a safety car. That’s what the rules say.

But I think that needs to be checked by all of us now, to learn from today and to see what we would do differently, to make sure everyone gets their race – no matter if that is the case next day, if it comes back.
