Aston Martin F1 announces the arrival of Pedro de la Rosa as an ambassador for the team, which he will be responsible for helping to develop in several areas.

The Spaniard took part in 104 Grands Prix between 1999 and 2012, his best result being second place in Hungary in 2006 with McLaren F1. But it is also for his qualities as a test pilot and simulator that he has earned a reputation in the paddock.

Within the Silverstone-based team, de la Rosa will handle communications, media, marketing, promotion, and general advisory functions for the Aston Martin F1 operation. He also wants to be a consultant for the team’s new driver development program, where he will help select and develop young talent.

“I am delighted to join Aston Martin Formula One Team as a team ambassador,” said Pedro de la Rosa. « I already know many faces within this team, having worked with Fernando Alonso in particular during my spells at McLaren and Ferrari, and I look forward to meeting everyone within this organisation. »
