Lando Norris has impressed more than a few people with his performances this season. While everyone knew he was a talented driver, his persistence and struggle this year impressed everyone. And two-time world champion Mika Häkkinen is no different, and his most recent F1 column was full of praise for the young Brit.

The former McLaren driver stated in his column that, alongside Red Bull, he was impressed by Norris’ performance this season.

His strong performance and smart thinking did not go unnoticed as Hakkinen also recognized Norris’ smart decisions in the race. “On Sunday he didn’t try to drive the Red Bulls and Mercedes because he realized that McLaren’s greatest competitor in the constructors’ championship is Ferrari,” said Häkkinen.

Lando Norris is doing a fantastic job in his third season in Formula 1: Häkkinen
In a letter for Unibet, the former Finnish driver revealed that he is impressed by the young Briton, especially since he is only 21 years old and is competing in Formula 1 in his third season.

“Lando’s fifth place was another strong performance. Although Ferrari drove a pretty strong race, both Scuderia stars ended up behind the young McLaren driver.
“You shouldn’t forget that Lando is only 21 years old, but he’s doing a fantastic job in his third season in Formula 1,” said the two-time world champion.

While talking about Norris, Hakkinen also mentioned that his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo has had problems this season. He’s not worried about his form though as he knows Ricciardo is a fantastic driver. In fact, he believes something is holding him back from getting performance out of the McLaren car.
“Daniel is a fantastic driver and one of the best overtaking artists in the field, but something is preventing him from getting the best out of himself and the car.
“If they can find a solution to this problem, it will be difficult for Ferrari in the battle for third place in the team standings,” said Häkkinen.
