The duo Carlos Sainz – Lando Norris was by far one of the healthiest teammates in the paddock. W.ith the right mix of competition, respect, and sportiness, their friendship turned into a bromance. And eeven after Sainz’s switch to the jumping horse, the two joke together in the paddock. Although Norris wasn’t too happy with the Spaniard’s decision, the two got on really well.

The duo recently won gold on their day off before racing this weekend with Sainz’s current teammate Charles Leclerc. F1 journalist Chris Medland tweeted about their outing. In an interview with Sainz, the 26-year-old Norris admitted defeated: “He’ll be so happy to see that. If we want to make Lando a happy boy, I should say yes. “

McLaren’s pairing of the two extremely talented drivers gave the world “Carlando”. The two had a relationship in which one pushed the other to grow and become a better driver – something rarely seen among teammates.

Formula 1 is a sport where your teammate is your biggest competitor, and because of that, it can get toxic quickly. However, the Englishman and Spaniard shared something so refreshing that the entire F1 community loved to see it.

After a couple of years in Papaya, the two have remained strong, which is particularly evident at the end of the Monaco Grand Prix this season. Norris and Sainz celebrated the joint podium, followed by an enchanting champagne fight.

Carlando is not the first of the F1 bromances. We have Vettel and Raikonnen, Ricciardo and Verstappen, Berger and Senna, to name a few. What defines these partnerships is that the two rivals are on the track and friends are off the track. It’s different with Lando and Carlo.
