
Charles Leclerc had a rocky Saturday afternoon in Monza. After complaining of malaise, Leclerc ended his FP2 earlier than expected. It looks like the Monegasque has not yet fully recovered for the sprint qualifying.

Leclerc and Sainz will start the Italian GP in 5th and 6th place respectively. After giving everything, Canal + asked Leclerc about his health. He replied, “The most important thing is that I managed to do what I wanted in the car, so I’m happy. I just feel dizzy and have a headache. They are not crazy symptoms. “

Dizziness was a symptom that Hamilton suffered after his race in Hungary. Leclerc tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this year; Could the Ferrari driver face the same problem? Nobody knows for sure.

Charles Leclerc couldn’t wait any better
After a great race at Zandvoort, Ferrari took third place in the McLaren championship. The weekend in Monza may not be the same for the Prancing Horses, however. McLaren has presented its best result of the season and will start from 2nd and 3rd place well ahead of its rivals.

Regardless, Leclerc trusts the Italian team. “To be honest, P5 and P6 were the best we could do tomorrow. The four cars in front are much faster, but I still hope that if we have a perfect race tomorrow we can put some pressure on the McLaren drivers. That is the goal. We will see.”

Overall, Ferrari has had a difficult time on its home track. Carlos Sainz had a devastating crash in the second session while Leclerc fell ill. Plus, the pace just wasn’t there for the team.

On a track where McLaren is thriving, Leclerc and Sainz would have to give more than 100% to challenge the Papaya team. The race will be exciting. With McLaren starting in front of the grid and Ferrari further behind, the fight in midfield is everyone’s business.
