Jost Capito has thanked Adam Carter for his work as he left Williams F1 Team after more than five years with the team.

In the ongoing reorganization, Technical Director Carter has left Williams Racing ahead of the 2022 F1 season. He is the second key figure to join Dorilton Capital, after Simon Roberts, who hired former Volkswagen boss Capito as chief executive officer.

Since taking on the position, Capito has brought in Francois-Xavier Demaison in the role of technical director, while Sven Smeets is now sporting director – both having worked with the Williams CEO during the WRC days at Volkswagen.

Carter joined Williams in May 2016 and has held several positions in the engineering department. Prior to working with the Grove-based F1 team, he worked with Renault (now Alpine) and McLaren along with teams such as Jordan and Arrows.

“As we look at our engineering strategy and requirements for the next year and beyond, we have made changes to our engineering structure,” Capito said in a brief statement shared by Williams. “Adam Carter has left the team and I want to thank him for his hard work and contribution over the past 6 years.”
