If you don’t know the Centodieci right now, it should be you, the Italian name means one hundred and ten. Incidentally, this is not an arbitrary decision, because the EB110 is the last super sports car that Bugatti made before the start of the Veyron era.

The name 110 comes from the birth of Ettore Bugatti, who was born just as many years earlier, the man who eventually became the founder of Automobiles E. Bugatti. The EB110, the original Bugatti supercar from 1991 when the company was in the hands of Romano Artioli, was only produced for 4 years before Bugatti went bankrupt. Back then, until the McLaren F1 was launched, the Bugatti was one of the fastest cars in the world. It delivered 550 horsepower ex works and reached a top speed of 200 miles per hour.

Recently, the EB110 was back in the spotlight, and not just because of its legacy and the vision bestowed on the Centodieci creation. Judging by the press release on the Bugatti website, the cars, although extremely powerful, were simultaneously worlds apart in terms of feel and ability. The EB110 was 1,000 horsepower less than the Centodieci in terms of maximum power from its 3.5-liter V12, and not just that – advances in electronic assistance, stability control, suspension, and more will all be propelled to varying degrees. Even tire manufacturers will have greatly improved the rubber compounds and structural design of tires over the past 3 decades.
