The sale of Bonhams Grandes Marques à Paris marks the first event by Bonhams Motorcars Europe in 2022. The event will take place at the Grand Palais Ephémère by the Eiffel Tower and will feature some really great examples like the 1964 Porsche 904 GTS, formerly owned by the Hollywood King, the actor Robert Redford.
The 904 was the last of the renowned “giant killer” racing cars from Porsche. It is a mid-engined GT racer, equipped with a fiberglass body and has proven itself in sports car racing. It was used in the Targa Florio and even reached a podium in the Monte Carlo Rally. The copy originally belonged to the founder of the Monterey Historic Races in Laguna Seca, Steve Earle. Its second owner, Steve Berg, was the one who used it in well-known North American locations such as the Laguna Seca. Eventually the example was acquired from Robert Redford, who took care of the example for nearly a decade. The value of the example is estimated at € 1,300,000 to € 1,600,000.
2015 Ferrari LaFerrari Coupe
A selection of highly sought-after classic and modern supercars will accompany the 904, such as this coveted 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari. It is one of just 499 units of the F-1-inspired hybrid hypercar Maranello Special Edition. It is estimated at around 2,000,000 to 2,500,000 euros.
The Modena-based manufacturer called the Formula 1 and GT-inspired super sports car the “most ambitious” Ferrari. It is the first production car with the HY-KERS hybrid system derived from Formula 1. It has a combination of a 6.3 liter V12 engine and an electric motor that enables a total output of 950 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in less than three seconds and reaches a top speed of more than 350 km / h. The example has a yellow finish with a black interior. It is a low-mileage example that has only driven 930 km from new cars and is being offered by its second owner.
The 1996 Bugatti EB110 GT Coupe is another interesting example offered during the sale. The special thing about this model is that there is a considerable gap between the EB110 GT Coupé and the Bugatti that immediately preceded it, which was produced in 1956. The EB110 was developed by the same person who revived the brand, Romano Artioli, and was designed by Marcello Gandini and handcrafted in Capogaliano, in the Italian “Motor Valley”.

Although the McLaren F1 and Jaguar XJ220’s EB110 had some really tough competition, the EB110 simply left its competition in the dust by setting four world speed records, one of which was the record for the fastest production sports car. It is equipped with a 3.5-liter V12 engine with four turbochargers, which should reach a top speed of 340 km / h. Only 95 GT units were produced and only three owners of the new car had a total mileage of around 10,000 km. The value of the EB110 GT is estimated at 1,100,000 to 1,300,000 euros.
The upcoming Les Grandes Marques à Paris sale will have the largest selection of collector’s cars they have offered to date, with the cars’ history spanning more than 100 years of motoring excellence. You will also have a truly impressive collection of vintage cars that have come from a single family home dating back more than 120 years.
Over the years the event has established itself as a supplier of the best pre-war cars and in the upcoming 2022 auction the team will definitely deliver, starting with the 1938 Type 57C Special Coupe known as “Le Patron”. Before the Second World War, Ettore Bugatti himself as well as the factory drivers Jean-Pierre Wimille and Robert Benoist followed the example. It was eventually also used by Pierre Marco, Bugatti’s general manager.

“Le Patron” was used as a development car for twenty years. It is therefore not surprising that new ideas and components have been used in the car. Because of this, it has many unique features like the bespoke bodywork that is believed to be the final design of Jeans – Ettore’s son. It also has a sophisticated supercharged engine.
Since leaving the factory, this historically significant and completely original car has only had a handful of owners. It is currently offered by one of the most respected private collectors in Europe, having been in safe custody for the past ten years. The example is estimated at around 1,600,000 to 2,000,000 euros.
Another beautiful pre-war supercharged car is the Mercedes-Benz 380K Cabriolet A from 1934. It was developed as a luxurious long-distance touring car. The Sindelfingen 380K was the predecessor of the 500 k and 540 K models. In total, only 16 Cabriolet A variants were produced within two years. The value of the example is estimated at € 1,200,000 to € 1,600,000.
The Dolleschel Collection offers a multitude of big names in the automotive world from the pre-war era. Names include Hispano-Suiza, Delauney-Belleville, and Panhard. There are four Hispano Suiza on offer, led by the 1921 Hispano-Suiza H6B Torpedo. It still has its original Divivier bodywork, and it has also retained its original interior that was inspired by its first owner, New York Francophile John Jay Ide, US diplomat and first Justice of the US Supreme Court, John Jay’s great-grandfather, in Order was given. Grandson. It is estimated at 300,000 to 400,000 euros.
Another very interesting example in the very valuable and impressive collection is the 1902 Panhard & Levassor Type A2 7HP Tonneau à entrée par l’arrière. It’s an impressively authentic example and one of the best survivors of its genre. It has retained its original matching numbers, body and even leather interior. The consignor even followed the example successfully at the London to Brighton Run. It is estimated at 300,000 to 360,000 euros.
