Audi and Porsche will drive F1 teams from 2026

The German luxury car manufacturers Audi and Porsche will enter Formula 1 in 2026 and plan for the two cult brands to work together with racing teams in the motorsport championship.

Joining F1 would allow their parent company to do so Volkswagen Allocate development costs to its Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren racing teams. To enter Formula 1, the two car manufacturers need the approval of the Volkswagen supervisory board.

  • Porsche and Audi would join Formula 1 as powertrain suppliers.
  • Audi would work with McLaren to power its racing team.
  • Porsche is considering working with Red Bull Racing.

Future prospects of F1

Liberty Media – that too Atlanta Braves and SiriusXM – acquired for F1 $ 4.6 billion in 2017. The company’s F1 segment generated $ 668 million Revenue in the third quarter of 2021 compared to $ 597 million in revenue for the same period last year.

After a two-year absence, the F1 returned to North America for the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas last October. The Motorsports Championship also signed a 10-year contract in April 2021 to host the Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium.

F1 aims to bring races to more cities in the US, including Las Vegas and possibly a “dream race” in Manhattan.
