Max Verstappen is not only preferred in the PointsBet F1 Styrian GP odds before the race on 27. Verstappen is not only preferred, but is even money with +100. Verstappen’s chances of winning pole are even greater. He got a minus rate of -145.
Both Verstappen and Hamilton are aiming for their fourth F1 win in eight races of 2021, but Verstappen has the most recent win at the French GP and led late in Azerbaijan before a puncture put him out of the race.
Hamilton is the next favorite with odds of +170.
One way to see the American odds is to move the decimal point two places to the left. This lets a bettor know what he’ll do with a $ 1 bet, so the return on investment for Hamilton this week is $ 1.70. For bettors who are more comfortable with fractional odds, a bet of +300 is the same as 3/1.
Last year, due to travel restrictions due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, two races were held on several European routes instead of the typical individual events. Red Bull Ring was one of them. In the first race, Valtteri Bottas beat Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. Hamilton finished fourth.
In the second race a week later, Hamilton won ahead of Bottas and Verstappen.
Verstappen won the two races before last year’s double race in 2018 and 2019. Hamilton finished on the podium at both events.
In fact, Hamilton has only taken one podium at this track since 2016, a race he won second with Verstappen.
No other driver is listed with a better rate than 10/1.
The only other winner this season, Sergio Perez, is listed at +1000. Perez took over the lead of the Azerbaijan GP when his teammate Verstappen crashed. Perez kept Sebastian Vettel and Pierre Gasly behind in a two-lap shootout in a race in which both Verstappen and Hamilton lost points. It was the first time that Hamilton failed to score a championship point in 54 races.
Bottas is in fourth place this week with +1300. That pulls his top three odds to +120. Bottas was on the podium three times in seven races this season, most recently at the Spanish GP.
With a rate of +5000 for the overall victory and +400 for the podium, Lando Norris rounds off the top 5. Norris has two podiums in Imola and Monte Carlo in 2021.
On other lines, Nikita Mazepin is listed as the driver most likely to give up first at +600. Haas F1 is the first designer to have a rate of +350.
In second place are Yuki Tsunoda, Mick Schumacher and Nicholas Latifi each with +1200 as the first pensioner.
