The reigning champion Kyle Larson recently admitted that he would not be averse to a rendezvous in Formula 1. The Hendrick Motorsports driver announced that he will take part in the F1 final in Abu Dhabi later this year. To be honest, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched for Larson to contemplate the idea of jumping into Formula One. Speaking to The Athletic, he said: “I don’t follow Formula One that much, but it would be cool to try one out to see what it is like. I would love to experience the speed and grip and, who knows, compete on the road at an event one day. I’m down, I had no idea there was a rookie test going on. Hey, I might as well get in a car when I’m around. If there is a team that would let me, I would pack my helmet bag right away. Go there, go do a couple of laps. Let me know!”

However, an alternative option could be the Alfa Romeo team. This is due to the team’s recent ties with Andretti, who had planned a takeover. Even though the deal failed, there could still be a chance the team could give the 29-year-old a run. The only question is, will any F1 team give him a chance? And if so, will it be as successful as in the cup series, in sports cars and in the dirt arena?
