The 2-time world champion Fernando Alonso is on a mission to collect signed helmets. He recently signed, praised and swapped helmets with Williams driver George Russell. Now he has swapped helmets with the controversial Haas driver Nikita Mazepin.

The Haas F1 team posted a video on their social media handles in which Alonso guides the Russian in signing the helmet. The two drivers seemed to have enjoyed a pleasant exchange as they signed helmets.
Alonso also mentioned his quirk of collecting signed helmets. When signing the helmets, he stated that he had 50 signed helmets. The two-time champion was kind enough to give Mazepin his own signed helmet.

After exchanging helmets, the two drivers patiently clicked pictures with each other.

The Haas driver had a difficult start to his Formula 1 career. Before Mazepin even got into the top racing class, he misdirected fans when he posted a controversial video. He was faced with violent backlash from everyone involved in Formula 1.

In an interview with sports.ru, Nikita mentioned the reaction of the drivers when he arrived in Formula 1. “From the drivers I came into contact with – with all very good relationships. I would particularly like to highlight the older generation – like Alonso or Vettel. Very nice men.
“I’ve followed them all the time since I was a kid when I was just starting to watch Formula One, introducing them as supermen and even superheroes. And they are down to earth and very open, ”says Mazepin.

Always had a good relationship with Lando: Mazepin
Mazepin got off to a terrible start to his debut race in Bahrain when he crashed out of the race on the first lap of the race. Fans coined the term “maze spin” after it got out of the running. Lando Norris is a driver who assisted Mazepin after his spin.

Mazepin responded to Lando’s comments: “His video was forwarded by my manager who used to work with Lando. He is a young guy, a very successful racing driver, who has found himself in difficult career situations again and again.
“As far as I know, during the stream he just didn’t agree with the viewers who caught the hate wave. I was genuinely happy, I’ve always had a good relationship with him – I hope they stay the same, ”said Mazepin.
