Verstappen leads the last Dutch Grand Prix practice when Sainz crashes heavily in turn three

The usual suspects occurred in the last training session for that Grand Prix of Holland on Saturday morning, with Max Verstappen End more than half a second forward Valtteri Bottas.

But after playing a major role in practice on Friday, Carlos Sainz Jr. is now doubtful to take part in qualifying after a serious fall in turn three to his left Scuderia Ferrari with a lot of damage.

Sainz attacked early, but lost control of his SF21 as he approached the third corner. It earned the fourth red flag of the weekend and leaves its team a lot of work in the hours leading up to qualifying.

Back at the top of the field, Verstappen, who competed in front of his home fans this weekend, led the session with a breathtaking time of 1: 09.623 Red Bull Racing Driver secures the top position by 0.556 seconds.

Bottas was second fastest for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team, two tenths of a second ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton tried to catch up after losing much of the afternoon session on Friday with an engine problem, but the Briton was third seven tenths behind Verstappen but a little more than a tenth ahead of the second Red Bull of Sergio Perez.

It seems that Red Bull and Mercedes will be battling for pole position later on Saturday afternoon, but behind them could be anyone, with the next eleven drivers only separated by six tenths of a second.

Fernando Alonso led the pack for the Alpine F1 team in fifth place, just ahead McLaren F1 team‘S Lando Norris, while Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 team‘S Lance walk and Sebastian Vettel were seventh and eighth, only 0.030 seconds apart.

Pacemaker on Friday afternoon Charles Leclerc had fallen back in ninth place as Ferrari appeared to be struggling to match yesterday’s performance while Sainz’s crash left him in sixteenth place. The top ten were completed by Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda‘S Pierre Gasly.

McLarens Daniel Ricciardo was just outside the top ten while in eleventh place Williams races‘S Nicholas Latifi was an impressive twelfth, just ahead of Alpine Esteban Ocon, his Williams teammate George Russell and Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN‘S Antonio Giovinazzi.

Yuki Tsunoda could only finish seventeenth in the second AlphaTauri, but the Japanese racer was almost a full second behind team-mate Gasly while Nikita Mazepin ended eighteenth for the Uralkali Haas F1 Team, just before Alfa Romeos Robert Kubica and the second Haas from Mick Schumacher.

Kubica attended his first meeting of the weekend after being drafted to help K. to replacesucked Raikkonenwho was banned for the remainder of the Dutch Grand Prix after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier in the day. He completed 27 laps and was the second busiest driver in the session behind Tsunoda.
