“I was much more confident when I got into this race from qualifying – where we were very competitive,” said Fittipaldi. “It was a crazy start to the race, but we drove a lot better. We started to get faster at the beginning, I was able to overtake Kevin (Magnussen) and caught Latifi there in the first half of the race. Unfortunately, we had an overheating problem at the time that required a pit stop to ultimately ruin our race. But I was very pleased with our progress and the early pace that we had. The team did a great job for me in such a short amount of time that it really helped me get down to business. I was very excited about this opportunity and I am very grateful for it. “
