As we near release, which is now less than a month away, more footage from F1 2021 is emerging and today is no exception.
The latest trailer highlights the many new headlines featured in the upcoming Formula 1 title. We’ve already covered most of these in our extensive preview content, but this provides our first glimpse into Braking Point, its co-op career, and the real season kick-off in action.
Braking Point is a brand new story-driven game mode that lets you progress over three seasons. Starting in F2 2019, you will then go through the F1 2020 and F1 2021 seasons for one of five teams: Racing Point / Aston Martin, Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo, Haas or Williams.
There will be a mix of moments on and off the track, and as you can see from the short cut in this trailer, Devon Butler is returning from F1 2019, driving for Haas in this particular scene. We also see several other protagonists, from rival drivers to driver managers.
There is no dialogue in this teaser trailer, just the muffled sound of Royal Blood’s Typhoon track, but there are punches, strained expressions, clashes on the track, and even media briefings alongside F1 stars Esteban Ocon and Lando Norris. If so, the three fictional seasons will be dramatic.
The integration of constantly updated information is a key element of this year’s game, with the real season start feature allowing players to jump in with updated tables at any point on the calendar that has already occurred.
But it’s not just the scores that are updated, the driver stats are updated too, and so does the engaging My Team mode – for an extra level of authenticity.

We’ve had online seasons in previous F1 releases, but the 2021 edition features the much-touted two-player driving career where each participant can drive for the same team or compete for rival outfits. It should also lead to some pretty fierce contract negotiations if the race on the track wasn’t tense enough already.
In this new trailer, we see two players, one driving for Alpine, the other McLaren and finally their driver avatars finishing on the podium together after securing a top 3 finish.
As F1 will be available on next-generation hardware for the first time in 2021, it will offer ray tracing in certain scenarios, as well as being touted up to 120 fps and 4K resolutions.
The versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X also benefit from faster load times and the improved auto and tire damage models we’ve seen in our hands-on preview, expanding the number of areas your vehicle can be affected and delivering more realistic tire damage .

These are just the main features, there are quite a number of new additions and tweaks in F1 2021 which is impressive for an annual release cycle.
The game will be released on July 16 or July 13 if you purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition. Speaking of which, we can now take a first look at the My Team F1 icons included, as the trailer briefly shows Senna, Proft, Rosberg, Schumacher and Button.
We’ll have more about the game before it launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC next month.
