Ferrari F1 officials seem in no hurry to speed up Mick Schumacher’s learning curve by transferring him to another team.
Italian media reports that the Formula 1 designer is talking to the Haas F1 team about keeping Mick Schumacher on the American team for 2022. There were rumors that the 22-year-old rookie and son of seven-time F1 champion Michael. said Schumacher, could switch to another Ferrari-operated team at Alfa Romeo in 2022.
Haas team boss Günther Steiner was confident of keeping the young German on board, and Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto is now sending a similar message.
“This year has been more difficult for the Ferrari Drivers Academy, but we have to give the children time to grow,” Binotto told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Mick Schumacher’s first season is about learning without pressure and we are currently discussing with Haas to confirm him there.”

Schumacher’s Alfa Romeo move could have been at the expense of another Ferrari junior, Antonio Giovinazzi. However, Binotto indicates that Ferrari is still satisfied with the 27-year-old Giovinazzi.
“Giovinazzi remains our substitute driver, the first alternative to our (Ferrari) drivers,” said Binotto. “He’s growing every year and I hope he can stay with Alfa because he deserves it.”
Giovinazzi went into the summer break as 18th in the F1 classification with 1 point, which he earned with a 10th place in Monaco. Schumacher is goalless and in 19th place. His best result was a modest 12th place in Hungary.
