This season Mazepin and Schumacher often competed against each other at the end of the grid. However, that didn’t stop them from stepping up their intensity while battling each other to stay ahead.

This resulted in them facing some hot spots. The most intense of them occurred at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Mazepin tried to block Schumacher on the last straight on the last lap, which drew the anger of Schumacher, who went to the radio to express his displeasure.

Despite facing moments like this, their off-track relationship seems very different. In fact, Mazepin invited Schumacher to visit his house in Sochi, a gesture that Haas F1 team boss Günther Steiner appreciated. Steiner said, “I think it’s a nice touch and I know he has toys for big boys there.”

However, the Russian announced that he is waiting for his German teammate’s response to his invitation. He said: “We have to clarify that, because I have issued the invitation orally and have not yet received a confirmation. I have to sort that out. “
