“Mass flight, that’s not true” – Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has reportedly clarified that a significant portion of the race crew will be retiring after the season ends.
Haas had a disastrous 2021 season, averaging zero points all season. While Mick Schumacher did a commendable job, fellow rookie Nikita Mazepin was a disaster bigger than the team.

This has led to rumors that the latter’s father – Mazepin Sr., co-owner – encourages employees to stay with the team. The background to this is reports about employees who apparently quit in groups, which team boss Günther Steiner vehemently rejected.
“People leave, I think that’s every season, at the end of the season some people leave.
“On the technical side, for example, we have more people than before, when they stay, not that many people have left. It’s more of a racing thing because it’s a 23-race calendar.
“People just want to have a different career. They do something different, but it’s not outrageous.
“It’s a little bit more than normal but it’s the end every year, some people move away a little bit because otherwise the race mechanics are usually young because they have to be young.
“It’s quite physical to do this job and if someone sees an opportunity if they keep going, it’s okay to do something better.
“I’m not stopping them, but there is a mass exodus, that’s not true.
“We talk to others [teams] and they have the same problem.
“It’s nothing else. It’s just a few people leaving. They leave every year. If he [Mazepin] had to give them an incentive, if he can do it right I’m all for it.”
