Kevin Magnussen to finally partner dad Jan for Le Mans assault

Former McLaren, Renault and Haas F1 driver Kevin Magnussen will finally team up with father Jan when they tackle the Le Mans 24 Hours in August.

It will be the first time Kevin competes with Jan when they join Dane Anders Fjordback in High Class Racing.

Magnussen Sr has had a successful career in sports cars since leaving F1 in the late 1990s after driving for McLaren and Stewart and winning his class four times with Corvette Racing.

After leaving Kevin Haas late last season, son Kevin began his sports car journey by narrowly missing out on the January 24-Hour Daytona win with Chip Ganassi Racing.

Kevin announced the news on social media, saying, “Let’s go! My father and I will be racing on the same team in LMP2 this year at Le Mans.

“It’s something we’ve tried for years and really a dream comes true.”
