Hamilton makes money on social media
Hamilton has a record 23.1 million followers. With its enormous reach, the Briton is of great interest to sponsors. In 2019, Hamilton had “only” 12.5 million followers. Research by The Mirror found that Hamilton could earn around € 44,000 per sponsored post. This amount will now be even higher.
Verstappen has also grown enormously. While it had 2.5 million followers 24 months ago, it has now more than doubled to 5.4 million followers. Closely followed by Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. Daniel Ricciardo also comes close to Verstappen’s score.
The drivers with the fewest followers are Nikita Mazepin and Nicholas Latifi. Both men are still relatively new to Formula 1, but maybe it is also a factor that they actually drive at the highest level because their fathers bring money with them for Haas F1 and Williams.
