Haas F1 Team Director Günther Steiner says it is time the critics stopped piling Haas recruit Nikita Mazepin.

Steiner also said it was time for his young driver to grow up.

Already a controversial figure from his time in Formula 2, 21-year-old rookie Mazepin drew the ire of many in the social media world last month when a video emerged of allegedly groping a friend. Steiner said an investigation into the incident has been completed.

“He realizes that what was done was wrong,” Steiner is quoted by the British newspaper Sun as saying. “I’m not the type to kick someone in the face who is on my knees – that’s not right. This is a young man who has to grow up and sure we have looked into this and will continue to do so. ” these.

“We’re not saying this was okay and we’re letting him get away with it. We are training him and we will educate him for his future. We have to work on it to give him the best opportunity to learn from it and focus on it.” Run and make sure he doesn’t anymore. “
